Tall 1000 ml polypropylene tubs built for grain spawn. Half-fill them and there is room to break and shake — the thing a wide jar will not let you do. Autoclavable, filtered, good for twenty-plus cycles.

Best for grain spawn. This is a spawn vessel, not a fruiting vessel — for fruiting see the 1200 ml or 2000 ml boxes.
Sterilizing
Fill to about half height (450–500 g of grain) so there is room to shake. 15 PSI, clock starting once at pressure, never above 18 PSI. Whole grain 90 minutes, empty 30 minutes. Cool fully before inoculating. Shake once at 25–30% colonization — never twice.
